Maurice Abikzer our CEO , sat down with us to talk about this particular Luxury Home, Addison.
What made you want to purchase the property on Addison.
I wanted to develop this specific property because it was a great opportunity and of course, I saw the potential of what it could be. The neighborhood is quaint and schools within the area are exceptional. Building in this selective neighborhood was an exciting opportunity for me and the whole Milestone Design and Development, Inc. team.
Addison is a Modern Cape Cod. What part of the house or room is your favorite?
It’s so difficult to pick one specific part of the house that is my favorite because almost every single room has its own unique part. For example the master bedroom has its own personal fireplace and there is a large balcony overlooking the pool. It also has a master bathroom with a classic elegant bathtub and large two person shower. We designed a walk-in closet that’s big enough to be called a small boutique and one could easily fit 100 pairs of shoes. Personally, I adore the grand entrance with it’s high coffered ceilings. The custom made wine cellar with glass doors, although not technically a room is a fabulous piece. The kitchen we designed is truly a cooks kitchen that has a large island which is adjacent to the family room that has wall-to-wall glass doors that open up completely to the backyard pool area, which makes it seem like even though you’re sitting inside, you’re also a part of the outside. As you can tell I enjoyed designing this house thoroughly. Currently, I am building a Modern Home on Pacheco Drive also in Sherman Oaks which will most certainly have a little bit of Addison in it. Addison was a labor of love.
What do you enjoy most about designing and developing?
My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing the look on a potential buyer’s face and hearing them say, this is the one! This is my home!!! I am a developer and I’ve always loved the idea of creating something from nothing. I know I am lucky to be able to do what I love on a daily basis. Being able to give someone the keys to their dream home is a feeling like no other.
