Modern Love - Up on The Hill
The serenity of this beautifully tree-lined street is what made the CEO and President of Milestone Design and Development, Maurice Abikzer want to build a home here on Pacheco Drive in Sherman Oaks.
This ultra chic and modern home is truly one of a kind. The inspiration for this architecture comes from the passion that Maurice has for his love of design. “ Building a modern home such as this one will stand the test of time,” Maurice says. The color scheme is white, black and different shades of grey. Maurice admits he took a risk with using this particular pallet but he is very happy with the end result. It reminds him of a family beach house located in his home country of Morocco.
Building a home on a hillside had its challenges but it is what Milestone Design and Development specializes in. “It’s very demanding building a property like this on a hill like this but it’s thoroughly enjoyable to conquer the hilltop and make it your own., said Maurice.” The most challenging part of this property came from building the retaining walls. “We definitely used more dirt than anticipated but we pulled through.”
The best part of building this project is by far the design… watching this all unfold and come together gives Abikzer great joy.
“We have a tremendous team who have worked so hard and I personally couldn’t be more proud.”
