The fabric velvet certainly feels good and maybe that’s why we saw it make such a comeback in the Fashion Industry but now it’s slowly making its way into our homes.

That’s right, you heard it here VELVET is a huge design trend of 2018.

The launch of 2018 has velvet sofas, duvet covers and there’s even velvet wallpaper.

Can you imagine that in your bedroom? How luxurious. Speaking of “wallpaper” we will see many, many fun bright prints this year for sure. Patterns in wallpaper and on furnishings are going to be very popular as well.

For all you kitchen lovers out there we are seeing a ton of matte metal hardware, the mix and matching of colors and textures in appliances and countertops. People are also saying adios to white cabinetry. You will certainly see more wood accents this year too.

The doorway to color was opened in 2017 and in 2018 it’s no different and we LOVE it! Although we say goodbye to Blush Rose, a color we have all come to love ( or hate – sorry, not a fan) we celebrate this year’s color announcement from Pantone which is Ultra Violet. Dunn Edwards Paints named the Green Hour their color of 2018 saying “A darker shade of gray-blue-green, this color embodies the timeless sense of mystery and creative revelry of the era.” We would say it’s a perfect time to paint something in your home.
